A Christian study center is a non-profit organization whose mission is to engage a university community in serious consideration of the truth-claims of Christianity. Centers typically pursue this objective in a number of ways: including public lectures, conferences, seminars, classes, study groups, and one-on-one meetings, seeking to engage students and faculty, Christians and others, in dialogue and debate about worldview issues, especially as they are given voice in university texts and classrooms.
While we do many of the things that other centers do, our greatest distinctive is offering Christian studies for college credit. A distinctive of our Boulder and Fort Collins centers is the residential facilities that house classes, offices and students, and serve as hubs for campus ministries at the University of Colorado, Boulder and Colorado State University. Another distinctive is our leadership program, which seeks to prepare and equip leaders in this emerging century.
In 1983 Dayspring Center for Christian Studies, opened its doors within the shadow of the University of Colorado. Its purpose was to bring Christian thought and perspective to the richly diverse academic square of the secular university campus.
Since its beginnings, students from the university and surrounding community have taken courses in Christian studies which have been recognized and approved for transfer credit by the University of Colorado.
From its inception until May of 2007, Dayspring was an extension site for Denver Seminary. In 2004 Dayspring entered into a partnership with Northwestern College of St. Paul, Minnesota to expand its course offerings and to further secure approval of transfer credit for its classes. New study centers were launched in Fort Collins and Greeley, Colorado with transfer credit arrangements with Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado.
In 2005 Dayspring changed its name to Centers for Christian Study, International. (CCSI) and the Study Center in Boulder became an affiliate center of CCSI. In 2006 CCSI launched Rivendell College as its academic arm and formally began the process of seeking its own authorization and accreditation at the state and regional level as Rivendell College.
The Dayspring Center in Boulder is a member of the Religious Campus Organizations at the University of Colorado. Other than that, our relationships with universities are informal at this time.
As members of a CCSI residential community, we will seek to maintain high standards of integrity in all areas of life. We will treat others with dignity and respect, and respond to those who differ with us with civility and consideration. We will seek to live an exemplary life and cultivate habits of moral excellence. We will refrain from explicit immodesty, use of pornography, all sexual relations outside the bounds of marriage, illegal or immoderate consumption of any alcoholic beverage, on-campus use or storage of such beverages, any use of an illegal drug, or on-campus storage thereof, and any illegal use of a non-prescription or prescription drug.

Boulder, Fort Collins and Greeley. Students in Greeley are encouraged to supplement their program with courses from the University of Northern Colorado or the Dayspring Center in Fort Collins.
Any student who has graduated, or will graduate, from high school may apply for this program. Actual enrollment requires official acceptance from Dayspring.
Some of our students complete an application process with the university from which they plan to earn their degree, gain acceptance, and then defer their enrollment for a year in order to study in our Bridge Program. Most colleges and universities make this provision available to their students. This allows students to make sure they are admitted into the school and program they want, and still study with Dayspring for their freshman year. If you are interested in this, please let us know and we would be happy to help you work through this process.

This program is currently offered in Boulder and Fort Collins.
The program is designed for college students and recent college graduates. In most cases Dayspring hopes that college students will have completed most of their general education requirements and are narrowing their focus on a major and their hopes for life beyond graduation.
Not at all! The vast majority of students will enter into the job market somewhere else to serve Christ. One of the key components in the program involves matching students with Christian mentors who are already in the line of work that they hope to be in, in order to learn what challenges and opportunities for the kingdom of God they can look forward to.

Unless a special exemption is granted, students are required to live in a Dayspring Center residential community.
